Shhhhh......The Princess is sleeping

This last weekend I found out that little Irelan likes to sleep on my recliner. It seems to fit her like a glove...not. For whatever reason, when I lay her on the recliner, she stays down for a while.

And also a couple of pictures of her awake.

Super Bowl - the good.....the bad.......the ugly

The Good:

My family and I watched the Super Bowl at my siter in laws house with a big screen tv. I thought most of the commercials were great Bud Light really did a good job this year. It was nice seeing the family and just really eating this big feast that everyone prepared.

The Bad:

I was actually excited watching the game - for the first 10 minutes only. After that, my emotions went from "well, we're still in the game" to "oh my God, what is going on with the Bears - someone shoot me". The game isn't too hard to break down.

Defensively we were unable to stop the Colts. Everytime the Colts needed a first down they got one. Everytime the Colts needed to run they got good yards. Everytime they passed the ball it seemed to be a completion. Indeed the Colts passed the ball over forty times which was the way to beat the Bears. The defense was unable to stop the Colts at all. It looked like we were playing "prevent defense" which is not the way to play in the Super Bowl.

Offensively, we were just anemic the entire game. Rex Grossman certainly stands out for his interceptions and fumbles, but the running game didn't get going at all. It seemed like every time Thomas Jones or Cedric Benson got the ball there were about four or five Colts to stop them.

The ugly:

If your name is Grossman, it's not going to be pretty scene in Chicago. Most Chicagoans wanted Grossman out but Lovie had faith in him and kept him in. For whatever reason, I think that was the right move. Rex got you here and it would be suicidal to put someone new in now. Although, I would think that Rex is probably contemplating suicide as a better fate than facing the Bear fans.

There's always that famous saying that Chicago fans are very used to "wait till next year". Hopefully, the Bears retain most of their personnel and maybe next year will be a better year for us. For now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll go hibernate.....not. Go Cubbies!!!!

Overcast Sunday Morning

I had some coffee at Peets at Rivermart with Shimaine, Tasha and of course Irelan. Looking over the field, I thought that this was a nice picture with great cloud formations and a nice view of the field and houses in the background. Of course, I had to get a shot of Irelan.

Hey! this is my stop, let me out!!!

da Bears - Super Bowl Bound!!!

Wow! what a game Sunday afternoon between the Saints and Bears. Almost all of the odds makers and sports talk show people said that it was going to be New Orleans that was going to go to the Super Bowl---NOT! For me, the game was exciting to watch. Although I became sick to my stomach when I saw Bush catch a pass and run 80 yards down the field for a touchdown. But then my eyes opened up and a smile erupted from my face. As Bush was heading into the end zone and Urlacker was right behind him, Bush did something with his hands to mock Urlacker, (all planet linebacker), and as he entered the end line, he did a forward flip. Pretty much mocking the Chicago fans. I knew right there and then that this was going to enrage the Bear defense, and I was right. After that Bush score, the Saints never got close to the end zone. The Bear defense was all over them. End of story.
In retrospect, I believe that the Saints should have heeded that old saying" Do Not Feed or Mock the Bears" period.
Also, some more pictures of beautiful Irelan. I cannot get enough pictures of her.

No bad hair days here

Well, as you can tell, my brother and I didn't have too many bad hair days in our early years.
I can't believe that my parents let me walk out of my house with that hair. One thing I had working for me, I was a big kid, so not too many kids picked on me. Also, I think now I know why I couldn't get too many girls to talk to me. I can't remember who cut my hair but I do remember a bowl hanging on the wall with strands of hair on it. I just thought that my mother didn't do a good job of cleaning it.

The Temp job that I have now, allows me to do whatever I want for 7 hours. Basically I babysit an empty store. The last couple days I fixed up my "got milk" and "absolute" collections. Now I am going to scan some of my old pictures. Stay tuned for more pics.

Oh, if you don't recognize which picture is me, it's the good looking one - not. As fate would have it, I'm the other one.

2007

Well, I made it through another year. I've really got to buckle down and start looking for a job. Currently I have a contract job for 1 month baby-sitting an empty store. It's not too bad, I get let into the store at 10:00 am and then someone comes back at 6:00 pm to lock the store up. The store is empty except for a few tables and chairs. I basically tell people that the store has moved and point them to the nearest sister store. I have 8 hours to myself, there's electricity in the store, but no heat, so I dress appropriately. Thank God that the store is located in Mt View, because Google has free WiFi in that area, so I'm able to log in and use the web.
I bring my laptop and browse the web and work on bettering myself programming CSS. There are a few more projects that I want to work on while I'm in the store. My aim is to complete a lot of loose projects that I have started and have not completed.
Hope everyone has a good year!!
